HOW TO JIMMY: Mystic Mona pops in for COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
Our friend Mystic Mona popped into the studio and gave me a tarot card reading. Hint: It’s very good! Lots of new and wonderful things are happening, and we are all so excited.

I am very excited about our Community Highlights and love it when our community partners and business owners drop in for a visit.
This was a fun and hectic week. My good friend Tony Arias did his “Rhinestone Cowboy” show on Friday night in the Composers Room. I was there with my old friend Tommi Rose, who was visiting from Palm Springs, and my WhatsUp.Vegas crew. The show was fantastic! Tony wowed the crowd with his amazing delivery of some classic country songs and his amazing new “Rhinestone Cowboy” costume! I told him I might have to borrow it soon. Tony covered such artists as Glen Campbell and Conway Twitty, belting out the old favorite country songs, and he knows how to treat his fans right. The room was packed. He was accompanied by the Michael Dubay Band, Michael Dubay (keyboard), Adam Shendal (drums), John Fredrick (guitar), and Jeff Zinn (bass).
As luck would have it, my friend Tommi got us tickets to see the amazing Dita Von Tease show at the Horseshoe on the same evening. Tony’s show was at 7 p.m., and Dita’s was at 9 p.m. So, we had to leave Tony’s show a little early to see Dita. We DID IT!
What a thrill to see: “Dita Von Teese: A JubilanDita Von Teeset Revue at Jubilee Theater.” We made it to the Horseshoe in plenty of time to see the show. Tommi must know some important people there because we had AMAZING seats! Third-row center booth. The show is practically indescribable as an authentic tribute to the Don Ardan show “Jubilee,” which ran many years back when the hotel was called Bally’s and MGM. So MANY eye-popping costumes. Every scene topped the last. Feather headdresses and backpacks; too many to mention. There cannot be a single Swarovski rhinestone left in the United States! What a thrill to see all the beautiful showgirls (I counted over 20) and showboys (at least 15) walking down the amazing mirrored steps and runways. It was very reminiscent of the “Ziegfeld Follies” from the old days. You truly have to see it to believe it. They did not allow photos during the show but let people take quick pictures at the end. I was able to get this quick shot. Don’t miss this remarkable show. It will truly take you back to the old days of Las Vegas.
Onto Saturday night. I got to see The Jersey Boys at The Orleans again. I was there a few weeks ago for their grand opening, and it was great to see it once more. I have seen the show about eight times since it premiered on Broadway on Nov. 6, 2005, went on tour, and came to Las Vegas at The Venetian and Paris from 2008 to 2016.
The cast at The Orleans is among the best I’ve seen. I was there again with my friend Tommi Rose, who knows one of the leads in the show. Tyler Matthew Burk plays Tommy Devito. Tyler and Tommi met last summer in West Hollywood when Tommi was headlining the all-new LaCage show at the Roosevelt Hotel. Tyler was one of the leading men in the production.
On Sunday, Tommi and I threw an afternoon of an old-fashioned Texas barbecue (Tommi and I love to cook!) on my patio. Tommi invited Tyler and another cast member from Jersey Boys, Michael Prescott McClure. Michael plays the part of Angelo DeCarlo in the musical.
I told Tony Arias I was having a cookout at my house on Sunday, and he was welcome to eat and do the last part of his show. He tried to make it, but Sunday is a big day for Tony, who performs at two different church services and has a special appearance at Sun City. But he did call and said next time for sure. One thing Tony and I have in common is good food!
It was a great afternoon with cocktails and tons of food. In addition to me, Tommi, Tyler, Michael, Jimbo, and good friends Michael Joseph and Glenn, the Diva herself, Vita Drew, and her hubby Randy showed up. We had a blast!
I’ve been seeing a lot of action from the amazing Derek Daniels. On the cover of this week’s Q-Vegas magazine, Derek has been very busy planning his newest project, Henderson Pride Entertainment. Henderson Pride is Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
