The 50 Most “Perfect” Movies of All Time?

By Mike Mankiewicz

[email protected]

Wow, another list of “Perfect” movies.

How original.

Are you fed up with seeing yet another article claiming to have the ultimate list of anything?

Me too!

But Wait, There’s More

It’s not just any list; it’s a list curated by someone whose taste apparently transcends all others.

Or is it true that they have such a high opinion of their own opinion that they felt it was absolutely necessary to use the word Perfect in the headline?

Show Off What You’ve Got

If You’ve Got It!

Actually, let’s applaud the audacity of someone who believes their movie preferences are the ultimate standard of perfection. Because, you know, what the world really needs is one more person telling us what’s good and what’s not.

Because then I don’t have to trouble myself with coming to my own conclusion.

After all, they went through the accelerated course they found on a TikTok ad and received the super advanced Ph.D. in AFoE (All Facets of Existence), so they are now above us commoners.

The Deep Dive

When you consider the rigorous selection process behind these “perfect” movies,

Did they consult a team of experts? No.

Conduct extensive surveys? No.

Apply logic? Um, well…

OK, we all know how dangerous that can be.

It’s just one person’s opinion. That’s enough, right? The fate of these 50 supposedly flawless films rests solely on the shoulders of one individual.

Cultivating Confidence in Oneself

But fear not, dear friend, for this list is not just about movies. It’s a celebration of ego, a testament to the power of one person’s unwavering belief in their own infallible taste. Because who needs consensus when you can have a single, authoritative voice dictating what is perfect and what is not?

So, the next time you stumble upon yet another “perfect movies” list, take a moment to bask in the glory of one person’s unshakable confidence in their own opinion. After all, isn’t that what the internet is for?

Uh Oh Things Just Got More Complicated

Then again, here’s a thought: Maybe we should all start making our own lists of “perfect” movies. Then, we can compare them to this self-proclaimed expert’s list and see just how close their opinion aligns with ours.

Who knows, maybe we’ll be enlightened by their cinematic wisdom, or maybe we’ll discover that their opinion ranks right up there with elevator music. Either way, it’s worth a shot, right?

Exciting Findings Have Emerged

And speaking of “perfect” movies, why in the world did this genius overlook gems like “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” the “Godfather” series, and the Batman movies starring Michael Keaton?

Let’s not forget the influence of disaster movies like “Airport,” “The Towering Inferno,” and “Earthquake” on comedy classics like “Airplane!” and “The Naked Gun” series.

Also, let’s remember that without Errol Flynn starring in “The Adventures of Robin Hood” in 1938, we wouldn’t have had “Robin Hood Men in Tights,” “Prince of Thieves,” or the retelling of that classic tale from a brand-new point of view in the 2010 Russell Crowe version.

In A Nutshell

I do enjoy basking in the absurdity of someone claiming to have a definitive list of “perfect” movies.

And it’s quite possible they have rewritten the definition of perfection from a brand new point of view.

The important thing to remember is that the world of cinema is so diverse and rich that no single list can encompass it all.

So, the next time you encounter a “perfect movies” list, remember to take it with a grain of salt and perhaps a pinch of sarcasm. After all, perfection is in the eye of the beholder, or in this case, some schmo on the internet.
