MY SHOW
Well, it’s another HOW TO JIMMY VEGAS show! Our friends from the rodeo were back in the studio to tell us how their royalty is chosen. It involves a lot more than makeup and wigs! For sure, there are lots of different kinds of drag queens. We are so proud to have them all in our studio.
The cast from the Super Summer Theater dropped in to tell us all about their current product of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” which runs through June 29. Click here for tickets to the show.

NEW CLUB DUST OPEN FOR BUSINESS
I am very happy to report that the newest LGBTQIA+ club, DUST, is now open for business! I was once the proud owner of this location with a club named Jimmy’s at Madison’s for almost three years, but, unfortunately, due to many circumstances, I was not able to keep it open. Blame it on the pandemic or just a poor investment, but I’m happy that all the work we put into the building at 855 E. Twain Ave. is now being put to good use. I have met the owner, Ryan Bandy, a couple of times, and he is a super nice man! Ryan is from Springfield, Illinois, and has a very successful business there called PAPI’S PIZZA PUB!
I was invited to the VIP opening party last Friday and was thrilled to see some of my old friends and customers. One of the highlights was finding out that a good friend and former employee, JC Lopez, was hired as the general manager for the club. JC is a very talented and outgoing person, and I could not think of anyone better for the Job! Congratulations, JC!!

A club just a block away on Twain, FLEX, is still going strong. Flex opened about a year ago after closing its location on the west side of town at the corner of Charleston Boulevard and Arville Street. The same owners have kept the club alive and thriving. A good friend and fan of our show, Stephanie Danderson, does a weekly show on Thursdays called “My o My” and has different female impersonators every week. I have been honored to perform there several times.

Summertime Drag around the United States
It’s a tradition for well-known drag queens to do a stint at some of the seasonal hot spots around the country. Provincetown, Massachusetts, is a small Portuguese fishing village at the very tip of Cape Cod Bay. For many years now, it has become a gay getaway during the summer. Visit www.ptown.org.
I have performed in P Town (as it’s called) myself, and it was an amazing experience! Nothing fancy, but the small clubs and cabarets host all sorts of entertainment and gay events. It’s unlike any place you would think of as a resort destination. There is lots to do! T-dances, beautiful water on Cape Cod Bay, swimming, boating, sightseeing, antique shops, original artists displaying their work. It’s an artist’s dream! I could go on and on, but at least check it out.
This current season, one of my favorite performers, a good friend of mine, and the WhatsUp.Vegas family is doing his (her) show right now. In case you didn’t know, Christopher Kenny (a.k.a. Ms. Edie) was the longtime star of the Cirque du Soleil show “Zumanity” here in Las Vegas. His show is EDIE: Queen of the Desert, premiering June 24 and being performed all summerlong at the Red Room.
Direct from Las Vegas, leggy drag legend Edie returns to P Town with her sizzling new show, which will have audiences burning up from her tales of living in the hottest place on earth! (But it’s a dry heat.) With her high-kicking, feverish choreography and steamy storytelling through song and dance, Edie turns up the heat with this red-hot new show. Part tribute to the 30th anniversary queer cult classic film “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” Edie takes us on a scorching journey out West to the barren badlands she now calls home.
This is a show you WON’T want to miss. Visit https://redroom.club/events/90947

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I know and have worked with some amazing performers who tour all over the country at different venues. Randy Roberts is a mainstay in Key West, Florida at the La Te Da Cabaret.
Randy’s shows stand as a captivating live, multimedia tribute to some of the world’s most cherished performers. Over the span of three decades, Randy’s remarkable impersonations of icons like Cher and Bette Midler have consistently placed him in the limelight. His repertoire extends to include a roster of both famous and infamous ladies, among them perennial favorites such as Mae West, Joan Crawford, Carol Channing, Ann Miller, Joan Rivers and Phyllis Diller, an act that notably earned him a spot on “The Jenny Jones Show” alongside the real Phyllis Diller. Additionally, Randy delivers original portrayals, including a tribute to Gypsy Rose Lee featuring a spirited strip tease that leaves little to the imagination, delighting audiences and leaving them rolling in the aisles. A standout favorite is his portrayal of Consuela – The Latin Showgirl. Each performance culminates with a minilounge act, affording Randy the opportunity to intimately engage with his audience.
His bilingual fluency further enhances his appeal, making him a sought-after performer in Puerto Rico and Spain.. Randy’s talents transcend the stage, as he is also an accomplished lyricist, adept sound technician, talented writer and successful producer.
Randy and I worked together on the Strip in several shows. At one time, we both guest hosted “An Evening At LaCage” show at the Riviera. Randy and I went on to create several road shows featuring some of the best female impersonators in the business. I’ll write more about all that in a later column.
If anyone reading this column has anything to contribute, PLEASE feel free to reach out to me. You can contact me through this website or at my personal email: Starrpro123@gmail.com
Have a great week, and keep supporting All the shows….and TIP A QUEEN!!!
