Silver State Equality to Honor Debbie Gibson, Las Vegas City Mayor Pro Tem Brian Knudsen, LGBTQ+ Champions, Allies at Annual Equality Awards Celebration

Silver State Equality, Nevada’s statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, will hold its annual Silver State Equality Awards event and ceremony on September 12 at KAOS at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The Awards celebrate Nevada’s LGBTQ+ achievements and honor inspirational leaders whose selfless work helps create a healthy, just, and equal world for all LGBTQ+ people.

Hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race star Coco Montrese, the program features this year’s honorees, including singer, songwriter, and actor Debbie Gibson, who will receive the Silver State Equality Ally Leadership Award. Throughout her career, Gibson has been a staunch supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, performing at numerous Pride and charity events around the globe and as an ally in the battle to end HIV. This cause is particularly close to her heart.

Las Vegas City Mayor Pro Tem Brian Knudsen will receive the 2024 Equality Leadership Award. The Community Leadership Award will be presented to Our Center, a Reno-based nonprofit organization serving the Northern Nevada LGBTQ+ community.
