Honorarium 2024 is set for Nov. 1

The Center, serving the LGBTQIA+ community of Southern Nevada, will hold its 2024 Honorarium Nov. 1 at the Mariposa Ballroom in the Aria. Two community leaders and one organization will be honored that night.

The Person of the Year Award will go to Keith Boman, M.D. The local physician made history as the first cardiologist in Las Vegas to implant a cardiac pacemaker. He has been recognized multiple times as one of Las Vegas Life Magazine’s “Best Doctors.” He has more than 40 years experience in cardiology. With deep ties to the community, he is a graduate of Clark High School. Dr. Boman has been a longtime supporter of LGBTQ+ organizations, both locally and nationally.

Torrey Russell will receive the Lanny D. Love Hero Award. He is the founding artistic director of Las Vegas-based Broadway in the Hood. The nonprofit theater performs worldwide. His work with young people has given them a chance to rise above adversity and given them a chance to foster creativity and experience hope and change.

The Organization of the Year goes to NV Energy Foundation. The local utility’s foundation provides grants to local community nonprofits. It is committed to supporting diverse communities, including LGBTQ+ causes.

Reception and food stations begin at 5:30 p.m. Program starts at 6:30 p.m. Attire is cocktail or “however you feel comfortable for an evening of celebration.” Tickets start at $250. Tables of 10 start at $2,500. Sponsorships are available. Click here for tickets.
