Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) hosted the 35th annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas on Sunday, April 27, at the Las Vegas Ballpark®, raising more than $165,000 to benefit Southern Nevadans and their families affected by HIV/AIDS.
The event was hosted by Joanna Baumann and Sean Strife of iHeart’s Sunny 106.5 and featured a pre-walk festival and resource fair, connecting participants with community partners and local services.

Returning for the 24th consecutive year, Las Vegas entertainment icons Penn & Teller served as grand marshals. Adding to the excitement, cast members from Chippendales made a special appearance to reveal the theme for AFAN’s 2025 Black & White Party: The Wild West. The Black & White Party will be held inside KAOS Nightclub inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, Sept. 20.
“The AIDS Walk is not just about raising money — it’s about raising awareness,” said Antioco Carrillo, executive director of AFAN. “Nevada has more than 12,000 individuals living with HIV, and in 2024 alone, we saw nearly 400 new infections. That equates to roughly one new infection every day. It is critical that we continue to rally our community around prevention, education and support.”
The community can still support AFAN by dining at any of the three Las Vegas Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar locations—Henderson, Summerlin, and Town Square—through May 7. Mention AFAN or AIDS Walk Las Vegas, and a portion of proceeds will benefit the organization.
AFAN’s AIDS Walk Las Vegas is presented in partnership with Clark County’s Love! Live! Undetectable Equals Untransmittable (U=U) campaign. For more information about U=U and local resources, visit uequalsulas.com.
