Boyd Gaming properties across the Las Vegas Valley are preparing to celebrate Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Horse with traditional lion and dragon dances, festive décor and special dining experiences at Suncoast Hotel and Casino, The Orleans Hotel and Casino and Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.

Traditional Lion and Dragon Dances

Annual Lunar New Year festivities return with vibrant lion and dragon dance performances at all three participating Boyd properties. These lively cultural celebrations feature percussionists, costumed performers and colorful processions that travel through each casino, culminating in the traditional cai qing ceremony, where lions toss lettuce leaves to spectators for good luck.

Along each route, guests will have the opportunity to feed red envelopes to the lions, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune in the new year.

The procession begins on the west end of the main casino floor near Bailiwick. Guests can enjoy lettuce‑tossing moments at:

Performed by the Lohan School of Shaolin, the parade will begin at the bottom of the Bingo Escalator and includes lettuce tosses at:

Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m.
The procession will begin at the valet entrance and travel throughout the casino.
