JIMMY’S COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS: LAS VEGAS GAY SOFTBALL LEAGUE

The Las Vegas Gay Softball League just finished its spring season. Julie Gaura, the women’s commissioner for the league, and Iris Rodriguez, who is on the Baby Got Bats team, dropped into the studio and talked softball with Jimmy.

Gaura said the league has an Open Division and a Women’s Division of about 300 players. The teams meets every Sunday at Sunset Park and Doc Romeo Park. The next season begins in September to join visit the website at lvgsl.com.

The season ended with the Lazer Sports winning the B Division in the Open Division, which is co-ed. That division is made up of groups based on skill level. Fun Hog won the C division. Royal Flamingos came in first in the D Division. And, the Hustlers won the E Division.

The Women’s Division is made up of all players who identify as women. Team Beavers won that division.

In October, Las Vegas will host the Gay Softball World Series 2024. The winning Open Division players will be representing Las Vegas in that event.
