PHOTOS: The Center’s Honorarium draws 800; anounces big news

This year’s Honorarium had the theme “Health care for all.” About 800 people attended the annual fundraising event that raised a whopping $6.3 million.

CEO John Waldron and his crew at The Center had some big news, too. The evening unveiled the Gavin J. Goorjian Community Health Center, a new facility at 921 S. Las Vegas Blvd.

Much of the money raised was made up of large gifts from trusts and estates.

The $3.5 million gift from the estate of Gavin J. Goorjian, a community leader and former board member of The Center. The medical facility was named in his honor.

A $2.2 million contribution from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust was presented by trustee Walter Panzirer. The funds will be used to provide physical and mental health care to patients.

Several awards were received.

Hope to have these award winners in the studio with Jimmy, soon. More coverage to follow. Watch for videos and interviews in the. coming weeks.
