Clark County’s Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival Returns Oct. 9–11

Dust off your armor, sharpen your wit and prepare to step back in time when Clark County’s Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival returns to Sunset Park for three days of jousting, music, merriment and medieval magic.

Celebrating its 32nd year, the annual festival takes over more than 30 acres at Sunset Park, transforming the Las Vegas landscape into a colorful 16th-century English village from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 9–11. History buffs, fantasy fans, families and anyone looking for a uniquely Las Vegas weekend can immerse themselves in a world of knights, artisans, pirates and colorful characters.

At the heart of the festival are the thrilling full-contact jousting tournaments, where armored knights battle for honor and glory. Throughout the grounds, visitors can explore Pirate’s Port and test their luck at pirate games, while multiple stages offer a nonstop lineup of entertainment, including belly dancers, magicians, comedians, Celtic rock bands and a live bird show featuring The Birdman.

The festival’s living history guild encampments offer another glimpse into Renaissance life. Reenactors demonstrate traditional crafts and skills, including blacksmithing and archery, while sharing their knowledge of the period with visitors.

For shoppers, the extensive artisan market features more than 100 master artisans offering handcrafted items and period-themed products.

It should come as no surprise that during this Renaissance period, no one will go hungry, with plenty of Renaissance-inspired food such as giant roasted turkey legs, meat pies, and more.

Stay for the Weekend

Those who want to fully embrace the experience can book a stay at the festival’s dedicated public campground just outside the main event perimeter. Camping packages range from traditional tent and RV spaces to pre-assembled accommodations, including yurts and bell tents.

Weekend packages can include multi-day festival admission, early access to the grounds and access to the private campground, which features designated facilities and exclusive entertainment. Camping spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so advance reservations are recommended.

Raise a Glass on the Guided Pub Crawl

New this year is the Guided Pub Crawl, a moderate walking tour that takes participants from the east side to the west side of Sunset Park’s Lake, offering a different way to experience the festival.

Led by a knowledgeable guide, the crawl visits three distinct taverns, with participants receiving one complimentary tasting at each stop. Guests can also meet the village’s colorful inhabitants, which brings the festival to life.

Whether dressed in Renaissance clothes or just ready to have fun, the pub crawl is the perfect way to see the festival from another angle while trying some food.

Dress up in your best Renaissance, Medieval, or Fantasy outfits and join the village.

The Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival takes place Oct. 9–11 at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road. Single-day tickets and three-day passes are available, with discounted admission for seniors and children. Advance tickets, camping packages, entertainment schedules and parking information are available at LVRenFair.com.
