Well, it’s my second show, and I am still very excited about it. It’s the only place where drag queens are featured alongside other Las Vegas entertainers. We shoot it in the studio every other Monday. We have some of my favorites coming up, so stay tuned. Thank you, our good friend John Stiles at WWDBTV.COM, for making us look so good!
It was my pleasure to have my guests and good friends, Ms. Las Vegas Pride Norma Llyaman and Vita Drew, who stars in Menopause The Musical at Harrah’s, on the program. For this show, we talked about how we met and all the different shows and fundraisers we have been involved in. And yes, we break into song from time to time. It’s so nice to have good friends on the program: It’s just like sitting around the living room, remembering good times.

I RECOMMEND
Wait, OK STOP! When I say recommend, I mean I like it. I’ve gotten in trouble in the past for recommending something, and for some reason, it always gets screwed up. For instance, I can’t tell you how many times I had said: “Oh, you have to try this restaurant,” only to find out later that when they did go, there was a new chef or something, and it wasn’t the same experience that I had. Same thing with shows. So, I’m going to start saying: “When I went” I loved it and I hope you have the same experience. On that note, When I saw it (with Enoch Agustus Scott) I LOVED Zombie Burlesque! It’s not what I was expecting, and it truly surprised me with how funny it was. Don’t let the “Zombie” thing throw you, it’s not all about zombies, but a comedy take on them. Enoch is the host and keeps the audience laughing and amazed from start to finish. He has a knack for improv and picking on people and then returning later and remembering their names and whatever they talked about. Reminds me very much of the legendary Pudgy! Check her out on YouTube. Here is one of my favorites when she worked with Don Rickles.

- My good friends attended the Vegas PBS Big Party last Friday and said it was GRAND! It was the big spring fundraiser for our Public Broadcasting Service, Channel 10. Everyone was dressed up in bright, pretty colors. Well-known announcer Mark Shunock from Mondays Dark was the emcee. Performers from “The Atomic Saloon Show” in The Venetian and a singer from “Jersey Boys” at The Orleans wowed the audience of about 500. The girls LOVED the sexy male pole dancer from the Atomic Saloon Show! Like I always say, there is talent all over this town!
- The opening of CrashNBurn offers a patio with a great view of the iconic Fremont Street. WhatsUp.Vegas enjoyed cocktails and bites with a mesmerizing backdrop of Las Vegas’ dazzling lights and energetic ambiance. It’s a view you won’t find anywhere else.
- Atomic Golf Las Vegas welcomed the public to its flagship location with a purple ribbon-cutting ceremony on opening day, March 22. The venue has unique experiences, installations and food. It will offer guests 103 modernized golf bays spread across four floors, each with distinctive features. The venue also features six full-service bars, a tap room, chef-curated offerings, a putting district and intricately detailed murals.
COMING UP
If all goes well, my next show will include the amazing Kelly Clinton-Holmes. She is a very busy woman who can be seen performing at many different venues in town, including Myron’s Cabaret Jazz Club at The Smith Center May 10 and 11. In addition, she appears at The Stirling Club and The Composer’s Room at Commercial Center with her show titled: “The Sit In.” AND … she is one of the cast members of the upcoming Follies revival show at the Aliante Casino running April 11-14.
DRAG REPORT
On a different subject, I have to mention some drag stuff that’s been going on here in Las Vegas (and it happens all over) concerning gossip and backstabbing between the entertainers. As you know, I’ve been performing in drag for over 40 years, so I’ve pretty much seen it all. However when it comes to respect for fellow performers, it seems to be but a memory. In my day, we supported each other and were happy when any of us got a good booking or some recognition. Show business is a cut-throat industry and very competitive. Alas, the ‘’RuPaul Drag Race” has taken it to another level. Don’t get me wrong, I love Ru and what he has done to promote the art of drag. It seems though, that these days to get booked in just about any club or venue has to come with a “RuPaul Drag Race” seal of approval. EVERYONE can’t be on the RuPaul show! In my opinion, most of the contestants are mediocre at best. Yes, of course, some amazing talent has come from there, but these are performers that would have probably had a long and successful career with or without the show.
