The Plaza Hotel & Casino will again host downtown Las Vegas’ biggest party to celebrate Cinco de Mayo starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, in and around its iconic Carousel Bar.
The Plaza’s “Cinco de Drinko” party is free to attend and will feature a variety of entertainment, including a Mariachi band, Folklorico dancers, and a DJ spinning top radio hits with a mix of Latin music, all under the bright lights of the property’s iconic Main Street dome. The Plaza’s party will also feature downtown’s largest piñata.
Guests will be able to commemorate their fun by taking selfies inside the Plaza’s photo house, which will include various festive props.
Fresh churros will be available for purchase from Churros 101 as well as street tacos and Mexican street corn salad (Esquites) from Fresh Mexican Grill. Carousel Bar will offer various drinks specials all night long, including margaritas, micheladas, Modelo beer, and tequila shots.
Across from Carousel Bar, Pinkbox Doughnuts will feature themed doughnuts for Cinco de Mayo, in true Pinkbox fashion with fun, exciting and delicious doughnuts.

Treasure Island will host outdoor entertainment poolside, featuring a Mariachi band on Sunday, May 5, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. The band will start near the pool and then move indoors to continue their performance. Hornitos Tequila and Picante Fresco will make an appearance, offering samplings with promotional models from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Treasure Island Pool.

On Sunday, May 5, southwest Las Vegas’ hip new dining destination, Mijo Modern Mexican Restaurant at Durango Casino & Resort, will host a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with lively entertainment and festive cocktails all day.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mijo’s brunch, which showcases the diverse, tantalizing flavors of coastal Mexico presented through an unconventional lens, will feature energetic beats courtesy of a live DJ. The party will continue throughout the evening with additional live performances. From 6 to 10 p.m., DJ Roger x Pepe will keep the energy high, while fire dancers and a mariachi band perform.
During the celebrations, guests can enjoy Cinco de Mayo drink specials, including a Tres Generaciones Añejo and Generaciones Blanco shot, priced at $14 each; the Moderno, crafted with Tres Generaciones Añejo Tequila, agave, muddled cherries and Cointreau; the Hidalgo Spritz, made with Tres Generaciones Blanco, cucumber puree, pineapple and Cointreau; and the Paraíso, featuring Tres Generaciones Blanco, strawberry puree and Cointreau. Each specialty cocktail is priced at $18.
Favorites from Mijo’s menu of delectable dishes with bold and vibrant flavors include the birria short rib, slow-cooked beef served with corn purée, pickled onion, and cotija cheese, priced at $48; lobster enchilada featuring butter-poached lobster and guajillo chili topped with a lobster cream sauce, priced at $38; and fire-roasted shrimp tacos with grilled shrimp, cabbage, chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, and fire-roasted salsa, priced at $16.
