VIDEO: HOW TO JIMMY: A Chat with Bent owner Mark Hunter and Enoch of Zombie Burlesque

Well, it looks like we all survived the NGRA (Gay Rodeo) this last weekend. It was quite the affair. All the actual rodeo stuff, I’m not too familiar with that. However, on the “showbiz” side, it was quite interesting. Of course THE Stephanie Danderson was in charge of all the lineups and performers filling up both afternoons, Saturday and Sunday, with tons of amazing entertainment. I was very proud to be a part of both days. I hosted the show on Saturday and presented my own “Jimmy Emerson and Friends” show on Sunday.  I want to thank all the “girls” who participated. There were so many, I hope I don’t miss anyone.

David Tapia, Jessie Taylor, Chloe T. Jackson, L.A. Jewel, Drew Owens, Scarlett Scott, Tequila Mockingbird (Ms NGRA 2024) Sunshine, Justin Tyme, Steven Wayne, Katy Monroe, Alizae Brooks, Becky Bocky, Jessie Cavallar….and I’m sure many that I missed!  THANK YOU ALL!

NEW CLUB A-COMIN’

We are all patiently awaiting the opening of the new DUST club on Twain Avenue. As some of you know, this is the location of a club that my partners and I opened in 2021, moments before the global pandemic shuddered many bars, restaurants, and clubs in Las Vegas. We did all we could to try and keep it open and present the best drag shows, live shows, bands, special performances, bingo, charity events, food specials, brunches and anything we could think of to please our customers. Alas, what’s done is done. I wish nothing but the very best for the new club, Dust, and much success. I met the new owner recently, Mr. Ryan Bandy. What a nice guy!!

Ryan is a very busy man owning a very popular restaurant and pub in Springfield, Illinois, called Papi’s Pizza Pub. Now, he is remodeling and reopening Dust. The hype around this new club is fantastic. I just found out that my good friend and amazing performer and bartender, JC Lopez, has been hired as the general manager!  Great choice! Also, good, longtime friend and fellow performer, Ginger Grant is in charge of all the entertainment and special events happening at the venue. There have been ads for hiring new bartenders, staff, entertainers and such. From my understanding, they have been overwhelmed by many fabulous workers that I know personally. Please, Lord, let this be the fabulous and popular club that I have always thought it could be.

If you are unfamiliar with the location, it’s at 855 E. Twain Ave between Maryland Parkway and University Place. There is plenty of lighted parking and security.

Where has Michele Holiday Been?

I’ve been asked many times, “What happened to Michele Holiday?” Well, as a lot of you know, Michele (Micheal Green) has been incarcerated for the last several months in Northern Nevada. Michele has been completely rehabilitated. I have been in contact with “her” and have helped as much as I can. The good news is she is being released on June 11.  She will be on probation for a year, and if all goes well, all of her drama and problems will be behind her.

Michele has been a good friend of mine for over 30 years. We have done countless shows and benefits over the years. Everyone makes mistakes in life, and I believe that Michele has learned her lesson, will support the community and do great things. I hope to work with her again soon.  Good luck, Michele Holiday!

It’s time for Super Summer Theater!!

Every summer, the amazing Super Summer Theater puts on amazing shows.

This state park is exactly 10 miles west of the 215/W. Charleston Blvd. intersection. All performances are outdoors and run Wednesday through Saturday.

The first production this year opened June 5 and runs every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the month of June. Their first production this year is “The Little Mermaid,” produced by my good friends Steve and Sandra Huntsman. Bring a picnic basket and blanket, and I will see you there under the stars
