Tony Award®–nominated Broadway star Melissa Errico returns to Las Vegas with a deeply personal and musically rich new concert experience, The Streisand Effect, debuting March 28 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Taking the stage at Myron’s, Errico invites audiences into an evening that blends storytelling and song in a way that is both intimate and intellectually engaging—less a tribute and more a thoughtful exploration of influence, artistry and legacy. This performance aims to inspire and connect with your love for musical storytelling.

Timed with the release of her latest album, I Can Dream, Can’t I?, part of her celebrated American Songbook series, the performance underscores Errico’s reputation as a compelling interpreter of classic material. Backed by a world-class quartet led by pianist Randy Waldman, she weaves together selections from legendary composers including Frank Loesser, Cy Coleman, Duke Ellington, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart and Joni Mitchell. The result is a layered musical narrative that reflects on mentorship, independence and the enduring power of interpretation.

At the heart of the concert is Errico’s nuanced homage to Barbra Streisand, whose recent appearance at the Academy Awards has reignited interest in her artistry and cultural impact. Errico approaches Streisand’s legacy as a creative dialogue. “I wanted to do something that felt like a Venn diagram,” she explained, where shared influences—such as Stephen Sondheim and Michel Legrand—intersect across generations, revealing how music evolves while remaining deeply connected.

That perspective feels especially timely following Streisand’s recent appearance at the Academy Awards, which reignited interest in her artistry and cultural impact. For Errico, Streisand represents a model of authenticity and creative courage. A newly commissioned song, “Daughter of Fire,” written by David Shire with lyrics by Adam Gopnik, captures that spirit—celebrating a legacy of fearless expression passed from one generation of performers to the next. This new piece invites you to be part of that ongoing creative dialogue.

The concert’s title also carries thematic weight. The “Streisand Effect”—a term now widely used to describe unintended consequences—echoes throughout the American Songbook repertoire both artists share, where love, ambition and human intention often take unexpected turns. Through selections such as “Send in the Clowns” and “The Summer Knows,” Errico leans into emotional contradictions, crafting a reflective and musically sophisticated performance. The audience is invited to explore the deeper stories behind the songs and their relevance today.

Known for acclaimed Broadway roles including Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and the title role in One Touch of Venus, Errico brings both theatrical depth and vocal precision to the stage. With The Streisand Effect, she strikes a careful balance—honoring an icon while remaining firmly rooted in her own artistic voice. The result is a concert that doesn’t imitate. Instead, it illuminates, offering Las Vegas audiences a rare opportunity to experience the American Songbook through a lens that is at once classic and completely her own.
