The new show MIND2MIND, appearing in an exclusive residency inside Azul at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, offers a very different experience. While most illusionists rely on elaborate illusions, award-winning MIND2MIND features two mentalists, James Harrington and Mariana Liani, who create an intimate setting where the most fascinating part is not the illusion, but the way the mind works.
The international duo is a sophisticated blend of psychology, intuition, storytelling, and audience participation, making every show a unique experience for each audience member.
Recently, this duo was crowned the 2025 FISM Gold Medal World Champions of Mentalism, an incredible honor within the world of magic. The duo’s amazing performances have been featured on America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent, Masters of Illusion, and the Royal Command Performances in London and Dubai, as well as stages all over the world. Now, in Las Vegas, the duo has a residency, allowing audiences to see their amazing work in one of the city’s most intimate venues.

For Harrington, the appeal of mentalism has always extended beyond simply creating amazement.
“Mentalism is always something that intrigued me. I felt like it had more inherent meaning to people than magic does, because when you’re working with the mind, you can infuse it with more meaning when you’re talking about somebody’s life,” Harrington explained. “We decided long ago that if we were ever going to do mentalism, it had to be effect-driven without the visual compromise that you often get with mentalism.”
Liani’s path into the art form was entirely unexpected.
“Growing up in Ukraine, we weren’t really exposed to much mentalism,” she recalled. “It wasn’t until I met James in my mid-20s that he introduced me to this incredible art. He showed me performances, we studied books together, and I became completely fascinated. I had no experience performing or even public speaking. Everything I know, I learned from James, and now I absolutely love it.”
Harrington found inspiration in the legendary performers Frances Willard and Glenn Falkenstein, pioneers (1978-2010) of the rarely performed art of second sight.
Harrington’s dedication to mentalism, exemplified by mastering second sight-a rare art requiring five to six hours of practice daily-demonstrates the performers’ commitment, inspiring admiration and trust in their craft.
Harrington and Liani started dating in 2017, and about a month into their relationship, Harrington showed Liani a taped performance of Falkenstein and Willard, and Liani loved it. They started studying mentalism together.
That commitment is evident throughout the production. Rather than relying on elaborate technology or grand illusions, MIND2MIND creates suspense through genuine interaction, carefully crafted storytelling, humor, and extraordinary demonstrations that continually blur the line between perception and possibility. The experience begins well before the performance itself. Guests are invited to arrive between 6 and 7 p.m. inside Azul in Fontainebleau Las Vegas for a complimentary pre-show cocktail hour, where an accomplished close-up magician performs intimate sleight-of-hand magic throughout Azul, setting the tone for an evening devoted to mystery. The duo will take the stage at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Following the 75-minute performance, audience members are invited to remain for a meet-and-greet with Harrington and Liani, providing an opportunity to connect with the performers whose seemingly impossible demonstrations have left audiences around the world asking the same question: How did they do that?
